In 1948, Charles Tordo, an inventive genius known for his skill, know-how and numerous patents to his credit, made 800 sturdy chairs for passers-by on the Promenade des Anglais. He thus became the first manufacturer of blue chairs in Nice.
Between 1950 and 1970, he had equipped the Côte d'Azur coastline and the Atlantic coast with almost 10,000 chairs. True symbol of this region, they embody and help to spread the French Riviera's art of living throughout the world.
Drawing on our French and family origins, Allure d'Azur rethinks Mediterranean furniture. Heir to Nice's original Chaise bleue (French for "Blue Chair"), Allure d'Azur promotes the French Riviera's identity and draws on 50 years of innovation and expertise to offer unique ranges.
From design to manufacture, our products are made in France and comply with the quality requirements of the founding family.
Our products were first sketched by our design office, located near Nice. Product structures are manufactured by our factory, specialised in bending. Finally our low chairs are enhanced by a high-quality cushion specially designed for outdoor use and made in France.
